Web Privacy Policy
As a non-profit organization, Nanaimo & Region Disability Resource Centre (NRDRC), places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy was created in order to demonstrate NRDRC’s firm commitment to the privacy of our Web site users. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to view our website. We follow the Privacy Act and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act set forth by the Canadian government.
- Credit card data and security: We use Canada Helps to process your online donations. CanadaHelps.org encrypts your data using Secure Socket Layers (SSL), the industry standard security protocol. This allows you to send and receive information without the worry of having that sensitive data (such as your credit card or home address) intercepted by anyone other than yourself and CanadaHelps.org. You know that the page you are viewing is secure when your browser displays a 'closed lock' or other symbol to let you know that SSL has been enabled. CanadaHelps.org uses the most advanced security available; you can verify our information by clicking on the VeriSign/Soltrus Secure Site Seal.
- Email addresses: We never trade or sell email addresses and we only use them to provide you with information from NRDRC. Occasionally we may ask you to donate so we can continue our work. You may stop receiving email at any time by unsubscribing.
- Cookies: We do not set any cookies
In order to ensure the protection of individual Personal Information, NRDRC has developed the following privacy policies for customers with whom we do business and clients accessing our services.

We will make all reasonable efforts to fully inform such individuals about the planned use/disclosure. With respect to email, we never trade or sell email addresses and we only use them to provide you with information from the NRDRC. Occasionally we may ask you to donate so we can continue our work. You may stop receiving requests at any time by notifying us.
- Accuracy: NRDRC will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the personal information it collects and uses is accurate and complete. Individuals providing personal information, and on written request by the individual to whom the information relates, the organization will modify the information as required.
- Storage: NRDRC will store personal information using hard copy and/or electronic means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of the personal information.
